Day 2: Nazareth, Capernaum and Sea of Galilee
Embarking on this captivating journey, our adventure kicks off with a scenic drive along the coastal road, leading us to the enchanting Valley of Armageddon. Revel in the awe-inspiring view of Megiddo before making our way past Mt. Precipice and reaching the historic city of Nazareth. In Nazareth, we explore the magnificent Church of Annunciation and the charming Church of St. Joseph. Continuing our expedition towards the serene Sea of Galilee, we traverse Cana, the hallowed site where Christ performed the miraculous transformation of water into wine. Gazing at a distance, we encounter the Mt. of Beatitudes, the sacred locale where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount, and make a poignant stop in Capernaum on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Our sojourn takes us to Tabgha, where we immerse ourselves in the rich history of the Roman Catholic Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes. As we pass by the picturesque Tiberias on the edge of the Sea of Galilee, we pause at Yardenit, contemplating the possibility that this baptismal site on the River Jordan may have witnessed the sacred moment when John baptized Jesus. On our homeward journey, we traverse Mt. Tabor, the revered site of the Transfiguration, concluding a day filled with spiritual significance and breathtaking landscapes.

Moving forward, the journey unfolds, guiding you past the desert oasis of Ein Gedi and the historical site of Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. The remainder of the day unfolds at one of the Dead Sea beaches, offering a unique opportunity to effortlessly float in the hyper-saline water, boasting 8.6 times more salt content than the ocean, providing a natural buoyant experience. Immerse yourself in the therapeutic Dead Sea mud, serving as a natural skin mask, and bask in the warm embrace of the glorious Dead Sea sun. It’s a day filled with history, relaxation, and the enchanting wonders of this extraordinary region.

In the heart of the Jewish Quarter, the Cardo, a Byzantine-era main street, unfolds its historical charm before our eyes. Our next stop is at the revered Western Wall, where we have the opportunity to place a heartfelt prayer note between the ancient stones. Continuing our exploration, we follow a segment of the Via Dolorosa, leading us to the awe-inspiring Church of the Holy Sepulchre, unveiling the sites of Christ’s crucifixion and burial tomb. Following a rejuvenating lunch break and a delightful stroll through the Old City bazaar, our journey takes us to the modern facets of Jerusalem.
