Itinerary
Day 1: Caesarea, Acre and Rosh Hanikra
Embark on a captivating journey through the coastal cities of Israel, commencing our adventure as we head north from Tel Aviv and arrive at the historic site of Caesarea. Marvel at the remnants of an ancient Roman port city, exploring the well-preserved theater, hippodrome, and the captivating ruins of palaces, temples, and bathhouses. Our journey continues northward, leading us to the enchanting port city of Haifa. Delight in the terraced splendor of the Baha’i Gardens on Mt. Carmel, immersing yourself in the teachings of the Baha’i faith. Pushing on to Israel’s northern border with Lebanon, our exploration brings us to the sea caves of Rosh HaNikra. Venture into the cave chambers and tunnels, where the rhythmic crashing of waves against the rocks creates a mesmerizing atmosphere. Heading southward once again, our odyssey unfolds in the Crusader city of Acre. Traverse the historical landscape, touring the 12th-century Crusader fortress, Ottoman structures, and the remnants of a former Turkish and British Mandate citadel prison. This meticulously crafted tour ensures an unforgettable blend of history, culture, and natural wonders.
Day 2: City of David and Underground Jerusalem
Embark on a captivating journey through time on this remarkable tour as we unveil the original Jerusalem settlement, concealed beneath the earth for over 3,000 years. Our adventure commences with a panoramic view of Jerusalem from Mount Scopus, offering a unique vantage point to observe an ancient Jewish cemetery, the serene Garden of Gethsemane, and the enchanting Old City. Traverse the Kidron Valley, tracing the steps of ancient Jewish tombs, and enter the Old City through the historic Zion Gate. Stroll through the vibrant Armenian Quarter adorned with its brightly colored ceramics, then immerse yourself in the rich history of the Old City’s Jewish Quarter, where notable landmarks such as the Byzantine-era Cardo and the iconic Western Wall await. Pause to place a heartfelt prayer note in the Wall before bidding farewell to the Old City through the Dung Gate. The adventure takes a subterranean turn as we delve into the depths of the 3,000-year-old City of David, exploring ancient tunnels carved from rock to channel water from the Spring of Gihon. Please be aware that this unforgettable expedition spans over 5 miles in a hilly city area, a consideration for those who may find extended walking challenging. Get ready to uncover layers of history beneath your feet, making this tour a truly unforgettable experience.
Day 3: Masada and the Dead Sea
Embark on an enchanting journey to southern Israel, traversing the picturesque Judean Hills and passing by the historic Inn of the Good Samaritan. As we reach sea level, a pause ensues for an unforgettable photo opportunity, followed by a continued descent beneath sea level towards the iconic Dead Sea. Our initial stop unfolds at the awe-inspiring Masada, where a cable car ride elevates us to the summit plateau, offering a glimpse into the remnants of Herod’s 2,055-year-old palace fortress. Marvel at the remarkable structures, including palaces and a bathhouse, preserving the essence of ancient history. The tour then meanders past the desert oasis of Ein Gedi and Qumran, the site of the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls. The remainder of the day is devoted to relaxation on one of the serene Dead Sea beaches, where the unique buoyancy of the water, 8.6 times more saline than the ocean, invites you to float effortlessly. Revel in the therapeutic benefits as you indulge in the Dead Sea mud, a natural skin mask, and bask in the warm embrace of the glorious Dead Sea sun.
