Itinerary
Day 1: Masada and the Dead Sea
Embarking on this captivating journey, we venture southward through the enchanting Judean Hills, passing by the Inn of the Good Samaritan. Our route gracefully descends, offering a breathtaking pause at sea level for an unforgettable photo opportunity, before continuing the descent beneath sea level towards the renowned Dead Sea. The expedition unfolds at Masada, where a cable car transports us to the plateau summit, revealing the ancient remnants of Herod’s palace fortress, standing for over two millennia. Marvel at remarkable structures, including palaces and a bathhouse. Our exploration extends beyond as we traverse the desert oasis of Ein Gedi and Qumran, the historic site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. The day concludes with leisurely moments spent at one of the Dead Sea beaches, where the waters, 8.6 times saltier than the ocean, provide a natural buoyancy for a unique floating experience. Indulge in the therapeutic benefits of the Dead Sea mud, doubling as a natural skin mask, while basking in the radiant embrace of the glorious Dead Sea sun.
Day 2: Jerusalem and Bethlehem
Embark on a journey to the most revered Christian destinations globally, namely Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Our exploration commences atop Mount Scopus, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of Jerusalem. Progressing through the Garden of Gethsemane, Church of All Nations, and Kidron Valley, we venture into the Old City. In the heart of the Jewish Quarter, we marvel at the Byzantine Cardo and the Western Wall. Traversing the Via Dolorosa, retracing Jesus’ path with the cross, we arrive at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, a 12th-century marvel encapsulating the crucifixion site at Calvary and Christ’s burial tomb. Departing Jerusalem, our route leads us to Bethlehem, where Manger Square beckons, and we explore the Basilica of the Nativity housing the Grotto of the Nativity, the very birthplace of Jesus, complete with an original excavated mosaic from the 4th century when St. Helen erected the inaugural church. If circumstances permit, we delve into the chapel caves beneath the Church of Saint Catherine. Concluding our enriching pilgrimage, we make our way back to the hotels, cherishing the memories of this sacred odyssey.
Day 3: Jerusalem In the Footsteps of Jesus
Embark on a spiritual journey tracing the footsteps of Jesus on the Mount of Olives, a profound experience that takes us to the Church of the Ascension, where Christ ascended to heaven, and the nearby Church of the Pater Noster, where He imparted the Lord’s Prayer to His disciples. Delve into the poignant moment at Dominus Flevit, where Jesus gazed upon Jerusalem and wept foreseeing its destiny. Our pilgrimage continues with a visit to the Church of all Nations and the adjacent Garden of Gethsemane, the poignant setting where Jesus faced his arrest on the eve of the crucifixion. Explore the historical significance of the Pools of Bethesda before venturing into the Old City, where halts at the Church of Saint Anne and the Convent of the Sisters of Zion await. Journey further to the 3rd Station of the Cross on Via Dolorosa, retracing the path Jesus walked while bearing His cross toward the crucifixion on Calvary. Please note that this unforgettable tour spans over 5 miles in a hilly city area, a terrain that might pose challenges for individuals with difficulty walking long distances.
