Highlights
Full description
Begin your unforgettable journey in Jerusalem with a breathtaking view from Mount Scopus, overlooking the Old City and the iconic Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount. As we descend to the Kidron Valley, we'll pass significant Christian landmarks like the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations.
Our tour of Jerusalem continues as we enter the Old City through the Zion Gate and traverse the Armenian Quarter, eventually arriving at the Jewish Quarter. Explore the Byzantine Cardo, a vividly excavated ancient street that once thrived with activity. We'll pause at the Western Wall, the enduring remnant of the Second Holy Temple, spared from destruction in 70 AD. Feel free to leave your personal prayer note here.
Following the path that Jesus took from judgment to crucifixion, the Via Dolorosa leads us to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, a magnificent 12th-century church housing the final Stations of the Cross, including Calvary, the site of the crucifixion, and the burial tomb of Jesus. Exiting the Old City, we'll immerse ourselves in the bustling atmosphere of a typical Middle Eastern market.
Our journey then takes us to Bethlehem, the birthplace of Christ. In Manger Square, we'll enter the Basilica of the Nativity, built above the Grotto of the Nativity where Jesus was born. Inside the church, marvel at 12th-century mosaics and the original floor and mosaic from the 4th-century church constructed by St. Helen.
If conditions permit, we'll also explore the adjacent Church of Saint Catherine, descending to subterranean caves to witness sacred tombs and chapels. As we return to Jerusalem, we'll pass by the Church of the Angels in Shepherds Field and the Field of Ruth, where King David's great-grandmother, Ruth, encountered Boaz. Your pilgrimage will leave you with cherished memories of these sacred sites.
