Full description
Start your journey with a hotel pick-up and head to the Mount of Olives, where you'll savor breathtaking views of Jerusalem's spires, domes, and Old City landmarks, including the Temple Mount. As you pass by charming churches on the mount, venture into the Kidron Valley, where you'll encounter the magnificent 1st-century tombs of Absalom, Benei Hezir, and Zechariah.
Continuing on to the 16th-century Dung Gate, our tour guides you into the Old City, where you'll explore the revered Temple Mount, a site of deep significance for Christians, Muslims, and Jews. Discover the rich history of this site, from Solomon's First Temple to the Second Temple, which held the Ark of the Covenant. Admire the stunning structures like the Dome of the Rock, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Dome of Chains. In the event of Temple Mount closure, we will substitute a visit to the Tower of David.
Our journey proceeds to the Davidson Center, an archaeological marvel beside Temple Mount. Here, you'll encounter excavated artifacts and architectural remnants spanning various historical periods, from the First and Second Temple Periods to the Byzantine, Muslim, and Crusader eras. Explore the wonders within, including First Temple Period walls, Second Temple era streets, and ritual baths.
As your tour culminates, we'll ensure your return to your hotel, leaving you with cherished memories of this extraordinary adventure.
