Montefiore Windmill

Located in Jerusalem, the Montefiore Windmill is one of the only remaining Jewish landmarks in the city and a beautiful reminder of Jewish history. Constructed by Jewish philanthropist Sir Moses Montefiore in 1857, this remarkable windmill stands as an iconic symbol of cultural heritage and perseverance.

Learn About the History of Montefiore Windmill.

Montefiore Windmill is rich in history and cultural significance. It was built as part of Moses Montefiore’s effort to promote Jewish agriculture in the area and strengthen Jewish autonomy in Jerusalem. Since its construction, it has served as a reminder of the unity and strength of the Jewish people and a symbol of hope for generations.

Meet sculptors, potters and painters who are eager to share their stories and works of art. Take part in conversations about Jewish culture, history and many other topics. Art market visitors can also find unique souvenirs at this stop along the way during their tour of Jerusalem.
