Venturing into the Jewish Quarter, we marvel at the Cardo, the main street from the Byzantine era. A poignant pause at the Western Wall allows us to place a heartfelt prayer note within the ancient stones. The tour then traces a segment of the Via Dolorosa, leading us to the awe-inspiring Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where we explore the profound sites of Christ’s crucifixion and burial tomb. Following a delightful lunch break and a leisurely stroll through the captivating Old City bazaar, we transition to modern Jerusalem. Our drive through the contemporary city brings us to the poignant Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum, where authentic artifacts, original documents, photos, and video testimonials of Holocaust survivors
Day 2: Bethlehem, Jericho and Qasr el Yahud
Embark on an enchanting Bethlehem and Jericho tour that weaves through the historical tapestry of the region. Journey past the Inn of the Good Samaritan and descend below sea level to the ancient city of Jericho. In Jericho, marvel at the venerable sycamore tree, reminiscent of Zacchaeus’ endeavor to catch a glimpse of Jesus. Immerse yourself in the biblical narrative of Joshua leading his troops around the formidable walls of Jericho until they crumbled. Exiting Jericho, the tour meanders past the Mount of Temptation and proceeds to Qasr al-Yahud on the Jordan River, the sacred site where John baptized Jesus. The journey then unfolds in Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus more than 2,000 years ago. Pause in Manger Square, and step into the revered Church of the Nativity, home to the Holy Grotto where the nativity transpired. Explore the adjacent Church of St. Catherine, revealing subterranean caves adorned with ancient tombs and shrines. Continuing the expedition, traverse Shepherds Field before the return journey to Jerusalem, ensuring a seamless exploration of these sacred sites.
Day 3: Jerusalem In the Footsteps of Jesus
Embark on a profound journey retracing the steps of Jesus on the Mount of Olives, beginning with the awe-inspiring Church of the Ascension, the sacred site where Christ ascended to heaven. Next, we explore the nearby Church of the Pater Noster, where Jesus imparted the Lord’s Prayer to his disciples. As we continue, behold the poignant Dominus Flevit, the very spot where Jesus gazed upon Jerusalem and wept in anticipation of its impending destruction. Our pilgrimage leads us to the revered Church of All Nations and the adjacent Garden of Gethsemane, where the poignant events of Jesus’ arrest unfolded on the eve of his crucifixion. Moving forward, witness the historical Pools of Bethesda before venturing into the Old City, where our stops include the charming Church of Saint Anne and the Convent of the Sisters of Zion. Delve into the spiritual significance of the 3rd Station of the Cross on Via Dolorosa, retracing the path Jesus walked while carrying his cross toward the crucifixion on Calvary. It’s essential to note that this unforgettable expedition spans over 5 miles in a hilly city area, ensuring a truly immersive experience – albeit one that may pose challenges for individuals with difficulty walking long distances.

A pause in Capernaum, nestled on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, grants us a moment of reflection. In Tabgha, the Roman Catholic Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes beckons us to explore its historical significance. En route, we pass by the lakeside city of Tiberias, making a meaningful stop at Yardenit, a potential baptismal site along the River Jordan where John may have baptized Jesus.
