Itinerary
Day 1: Jerusalem Old and New
We begin our journey by absorbing the breathtaking panoramic views of Jerusalem from the summit of Mount Scopus, a vantage point that provides a splendid overview of the city. Descending from the mount, we traverse past significant biblical sites such as the Garden of Gethsemane, the Church of All Nations, and the Kidron Valley, home to monumental Jewish tombs. In the heart of the Jewish Quarter, we explore the Cardo, a main street dating back to the Byzantine era. Our pilgrimage continues as we pause at the revered Western Wall, where you have the opportunity to place a prayer note between the ancient stones. Following the path of the Via Dolorosa, we arrive at the magnificent Church of the Holy Sepulchre, unveiling the sacred sites of Christ’s crucifixion and burial tomb. After a leisurely lunch and a delightful stroll through the bustling Old City bazaar, we transition to the modern cityscape of new Jerusalem. Driving through the contemporary metropolis, we culminate our tour at the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum, where authentic artifacts, original documents, photos, and poignant video testimonials of Holocaust survivors narrate a crucial chapter of history.
Day 2: Bethlehem, Jericho and Qasr el Yahud
Embark on an enriching journey with the Bethlehem and Jericho tour as we traverse the historical landscapes, starting at the Inn of the Good Samaritan and descending below sea level to explore the ancient city of Jericho. Witness the iconic sycamore tree, climbed by Zacchaeus in his quest for a better view of Jesus, and reflect on the biblical account of Joshua leading his troops in the march around Jericho’s walls until they crumbled. Our exploration continues through the captivating Mount of Temptation, culminating at Qasr al-Yahud on the Jordan River, where John baptized Jesus. Transitioning seamlessly, the tour then unfolds in Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus over 2,000 years ago. Pause at Manger Square, where the tour delves into the sacred confines of the Church of the Nativity, home to the Holy Grotto where the nativity unfolded. Our journey extends to the adjacent Church of St. Catherine, unveiling subterranean caves housing ancient tombs and shrines. Meandering through Shepherds Field, the tour comes full circle, returning you to Jerusalem with a tapestry of cherished memories.
