Itinerary
Day 1: Jerusalem and Bethlehem
Embark on a profound journey to two of the holiest Christian sites globally – Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Our expedition commences on Mount Scopus, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of Jerusalem. Traversing through the sacred path, we pass the Garden of Gethsemane, the Church of All Nations, and the Kidron Valley to reach the historic Old City. Within the Jewish Quarter, our exploration takes us to the Byzantine Cardo and the revered Western Wall. Following the footsteps of Jesus along the Via Dolorosa, we arrive at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, a 12th-century marvel that encompasses the crucifixion site at Calvary and the sacred burial tomb of Christ. Departing from Jerusalem, our pilgrimage continues to Bethlehem, where Manger Square awaits. Here, we visit the Basilica of the Nativity, housing the Grotto of the Nativity – the sacred site of Jesus’ birth, adorned with an original excavated mosaic from the 4th century, a testament to St. Helen’s inaugural church. If circumstances permit, we delve into the chapel caves beneath the Church of Saint Catherine. Concluding our spiritual odyssey, we return to the hotels, enriched by the profound history and significance of these revered sites.
Day 2: Masada and the Dead Sea
Embark on a captivating journey to southern Israel as we traverse the picturesque Judean Hills, catching glimpses of the historic Inn of the Good Samaritan along the way. Pausing at sea level for an unforgettable photo opportunity, we then venture further down, descending beneath sea level to the mesmerizing Dead Sea. Our initial stop brings us to Masada, where a cable car ride awaits to transport us to the summit plateau, offering a glimpse into the rich history of Herod’s 2,055-year-old palace fortress. Explore the remarkable structures, including palaces and a bathhouse, before our expedition continues, passing by the desert oasis of Ein Gedi and the site of Qumran, where the famed Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. The remainder of the day is dedicated to relaxation on one of the Dead Sea’s serene beaches, where you can experience the unique sensation of floating in water that is 8.6 times more saline than the ocean, providing natural buoyancy. Take advantage of the Dead Sea mud for a rejuvenating natural skin mask and bask in the glorious Dead Sea sun, creating lasting memories amidst this extraordinary landscape.
