Itinerary
Day 1: Jerusalem Old and New
Embarking on our journey, we soak in the breathtaking panoramic views of Jerusalem from the pinnacle of Mount Scopus, an experience that sets the tone for the exploration ahead. Descending from the mount, we pass by the biblical Garden of Gethsemane, the solemn Church of All Nations, and the historic Kidron Valley, which cradles monumental Jewish tombs. Venturing into the heart of the Jewish Quarter, we marvel at the Cardo, the bustling Byzantine-era main street of Jerusalem. A poignant pause awaits us at the revered Western Wall, where we engage in a meaningful ritual of placing a prayer note between the ancient stones. Our pilgrimage continues along a segment of the Via Dolorosa, leading us to the awe-inspiring Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where we witness the profound sites of Christ’s crucifixion and burial tomb. Following a delightful lunch break and a stroll through the vibrant Old City bazaar, our expedition transitions to modern Jerusalem. Cruising through the contemporary cityscape, we arrive at the poignant Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum. Inside, the exhibits unfold with authentic artifacts, original documents, evocative photos, and compelling video testimonials, preserving the poignant narratives of Holocaust survivors.
Day 2: Masada and the Dead Sea
Embark on a captivating journey to southern Israel, venturing through the picturesque Judean Hills and passing by the historic Inn of the Good Samaritan. As we traverse this scenic route, we make a poignant pause at sea level for an unforgettable photo opportunity, gradually descending beneath sea level towards the renowned Dead Sea. Our initial destination is the awe-inspiring Masada, where a cable car ride transports us to the summit plateau, revealing the ancient remains of Herod’s 2,055-year-old palace fortress. Marvel at remarkable structures such as palaces and a bathhouse, steeped in historical significance. Continuing our odyssey, we venture past the desert oasis of Ein Gedi and the archaeological site of Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were unearthed. The day unfolds with leisurely moments spent on the shores of the Dead Sea, allowing you to effortlessly float in its 8.6 times saltier-than-the-ocean waters, providing a unique natural buoyancy. Revel in the therapeutic properties of the Dead Sea mud as a rejuvenating skin mask and bask in the warmth of the glorious Dead Sea sun, making this an experience to cherish.
